40+4 requested a second S&S but told no

At my 38 week appointment my midwife ask what my plan were if I were to go over my due date. She highly recommended I opt for a c-section, I had heard horrific stories about inductions so happily asked her to make the referral to the consultants. She loosely said she will offer me a stretch and sweep at my next appointment but that they tend to be a waste of time.

The next appointment happened at 39+5, midwife called ahead and asked if I want to bother with the stretch and sweep and that we could cancel the appointment if not? I insisted I would like to attempt and went in but it was unsuccessful as I was ‘closed’.

Since this appointment I have met with the consultant re scheduling the c-section and was given lots of positive information around inductions. I’ve been in two minds ever since. Still awaiting to hear a date for my c-section but was told it would likely be this Friday.

I called my midwife triage number yesterday as I have no further midwife appointments scheduled and asked if I could be offered another stretch and sweep to try get baby moving ahead of intervention. I can’t stress enough how much my preference is a vaginal pool birth. The triager told me that management have said they’re not allowed offer any further appointments and cannot offer me another stretch and sweep. Is this normal? I know others who had 2/3 stretch and sweeps every few days. I almost feel like I’ve been discharged from community services and under no care (dramatic I know), but I expressed that I was having doubts about the c section having met the consultant and wanted to hear about induction and was just told that she would send an email chase my c-section date 😫 At this point I haven’t been measured since 12th Feb when I was sent for a growth scan, my midwife hasn’t taken any manual measurements since - kept saying I’ve been measured recently so no need.

Not sure what I’m asking for here but feel a little in no man’s land and wasn’t sure if this was normal? Would find it helpful though to hear if anyone who elected for a c-section regrets not attempting an induction? Though if I change my mind I wouldn’t have a clue who to contact. Praying to the baby gods that my little man shows up on his own in the meantime.
