Snack addicted toddler

Advice Request

First 2 years of his life, we basically never gave snacks except for those mum mums. Now that he's 2 and a bit, we've relaxed a little and have opened up his exposure to different foods A LOT. He's really interested in everything which is great.

However, he has a snack addiction (yes flame me all you want, although it was never my intention on getting him to LOVE snacks but I now see the flaw). I was this close to chucking out all the snacks out of the home last night because of the tantrums but I came to my senses and just hid everything really high up. Instead of just completely cutting out snacks, what are some "good uses" for snacks. My first thought is that they're good for the road?

Just some general advice would be great
