TIFU by trying to cut down my screen time and ruining my chances with a girl I really liked.
So, I met this girl on my last trip. We really got along and I loved her vibe. When the trip was ending, instead of asking for her phone number, I just asked for her Instagram.
Fast forward to today. I realized I was spending way too much time mindlessly scrolling on my phone, so I decided I needed to delete the Instagram app.
The problem is, Instagram was the only way I had to talk to that girl. So, right before I deleted the app, I sent her a quick DM. I told her, "Hey, I'm deleting Instagram until my next trip to cut down on screen time. We should connect over the phone," and I dropped my number.
Well... she completely ghosted me. No text, no call, nothing.
Looking back, I feel like this was the dumbest idea I could have had. I should have just kept the app for a bit longer, talked to her more, and naturally built up to asking for her number. Instead, I lost the only way to talk to her. Has anyone else ever messed up like this just trying to get off social media?
