Matched on a Dating App — Now He (M34) Wants to Visit and Help Me (F30) Find a Job?
A few days ago I (f30) posted here about a man (m34) I met on a dating app. We matched while I was visiting his city for a weekend, but I actually live about 350 miles away from him.
We’ve been talking for about two weeks now and we get along really well. Recently he told me that he would like to come visit me in my city. Because of the distance, he would probably stay in a hotel and come for the weekend.
What surprised me is that he has also asked some of his friends about possible job opportunities for me in his area. So he is actively trying to see if there might be work options for me there in the future.
Now I’m a bit confused and curious about how other people see this situation.
Would you travel around 700 miles and pay for a hotel just to meet a woman you have only known for about two weeks?
And would you ask your friends about job opportunities for someone you’ve only recently met online?
Do you think this kind of effort usually means someone is genuinely interested, or could it still just be about trying to meet up for sex?
I’m curious to hear your perspectives.
Edit: I was planning to move anyway. This decision has nothing to do with him. He’s just helping me with the job search. I had already decided to move even before I knew him.
TL;DR:
I (F30) matched with a man (M34) on a dating app while visiting his city. They live about 350 miles apart and have been talking for two weeks. He wants to travel to visit her for a weekend and stay in a hotel, and he has even asked friends about possible job opportunities for her in his area. She’s wondering if this level of effort means he’s genuinely interested or if it could still just be about meeting up for sex.
Edit: She was already planning to move anyway; he’s just helping with the job search.
