PTU vs Self Pay CphT

I’ve been with my pharmacy since the beginning of February. I have done 0 ptu.

I was a nationally certified tech before, and I let my license lapse as I was in a different career path, but I confident that I can study and retake the test.

However, the pharmacy manager mentioned that I have to go through PTU in order to get certified.

This kind of makes sense to me, but if I am willing to use my own money to get certified, can this be a potential issue?
