AITAH for posting a random car on my private story because it looked ridiculous?
Posted someone’s car on my story and had a town turn on me AMA?
So for context, I’m in the UK. Someone sent me a picture of someone’s car on a road, just a view from behind. A baby blue wrapped Range Rover with an illegally spaced license plate that tried to spell lips. I posted this to my Instagram story with 300 private followers. Saying it’s the worst thing I’ve seen this year and a caption about if you can afford a Range Rover please stop buying 11 reg plates and Illegally spacing them to make up words it looks awful. As the plate spelled lips I concluded it was an aesthetics person and also captioned it 3mls of nothing upstairs.
As it didn’t identify anyone, I certainly didn’t know who it was and I have a small private profile I didn’t expect somehow the owner got sent a screenshot of this story. Maybe naive of me to think this but in a town of 20,000 people what are the odds. Next thing I know my photos been screenshotted, and the story’s been reposted on her 6000+ following beauty page. Along with a picture of me, my social handles. I’m having her relatives messaging me threatening violence if I don’t remove the story. Despite her literally posting a story and post with this in. It’s gained lots of traction, mostly from her clients. With all kinds of nasty comments. There’s people I’ve never heard of in my life making up serious allegations about my past, sharing it with my face calling me shrimp gentiles and all sorts.
Now I understand I was naive to think I could post someone’s car with my opinion and just because it didn’t identify them unless you knew them/ and I didn’t know them and call them/the vehicle. However I’m feeling like this was a nuclear response to what was a rock being thrown. I’ve had to deactivate all my social profiles and go into digital hiding. Her last comment on her post was. Mission accomplished, try to terrorise me and my army will come for you.
AMA or is this an invalid response?
