best cheap flights for 4 college students from the US

4 college kids from the east coast US looking to find cheap flights somewhere nice around may, for about a week. ideally somewhere cheap to fly, but also cheap to stay in. we were thinking iceland because we found some cheap flights, but not sure how expensive it is to stay there for a week. other top picks so far are amsterdam, portugal, hawaii, switzerland, etc.

hiking is a hobby of the group and would be nice to do, and maybe some sight seeing depending on the place.

where would you guys recommend visiting?
