Need official copy of naturalization from Archives of Ontario?
My ancestor was naturalized in Upper Canada right after the Naturalization Act of 1828 went into effect. I've found the record on the Archives of Ontario site, and an even clearer copy of it on FamilySearch.
Is it ok to submit a self-printed copy of this digitized naturalization record with my CIT 0001 application, or do I need to order an official copy of it from the Archives of Canada? Since the Archives would just be printing it out and mailing it to me too (and not actually certifying it, as far as I can tell), I'd rather not wait the extra month or so to receive the copy from them unless I need to. If I'm understanding things right, the only entity that could actually certify a naturalization is IRCC, and that process alone can take over a year, and isn't always straightforward.
Other posts here discussing Archives of Ontario records (other than vital records that they can certify) have suggested submitting a self-printout of the record with the CIT 0001 application, then later uploading the Archives version if it's requested. But is this the sort of thing that could get the entire application immediately bounced back, especially when it involves the Gen 0 ancestor?
