Packing and depth

Hey all, I did a hand poked tattoo on myself about a month ago. Right after it looked super black/saturated but while it healed all the darkness was scabs and its a light ghost of itself now.

Does anything have any beginner tips for depth control and saturation?

How to pack black without the use of a pen machine (which i also have)?

I’m still very new to this scene and I plan to be a tattoo artist specialized in both styles of tattooing!
