2022 1500 5.3 Valve Body Failed

Mostly putting this out for general info in case anyone else runs into it. I have a 2022 Silverado 1500 with 5.3L engine. At 65,000 miles I had an issue where randomly acted up.

I was backing out of a parking spot and when I put it in reverse it didn’t engage the gear. Put in park and reverse again and it did the same thing. Put it i. Drive and then reverse and it worked. I pulled out of the parking lot and as it was shifting to 3rd or 4th, it didn’t engage and just revved to about 3000 rpm (about 25mph) and then slammed into gear. Went into limp mode and threw three codes. Two were low voltage related so I researched and the battery seemed to be failing. I picked up a new battery and the codes went away and it drove fine. I figured it was indeed the battery.

One week ago I had a similar issue where it didn’t engage 3rd gear and started revving up. I noticed immediately as I was accelerating from a stop sign up a slight hill and I got off the gas immediately. It dropped to about 1200 rpm and then I lightly pressed the gas and it acted like it was trying to shift but didn’t engage. Limp mode / check engine comes on. It had two gears (I think) and no reverse. I drove it directly to the dealer and left it. Tuesday they confirmed the valve body failed.

The dealer has no eta yet on the replacement because there is a back order. They offered to discount the service with very little pressure but they have no loaners. I’ve created a case with Chevy corporate but they haven’t called me back. It seems like all of these should be recalled based on the frequency that these valve bodies are failing.

I’m hoping for some additional assistance from Chevy corporate if they actually call me back.
