Lodging for a Anniversary trip. Questions

My wife and I will be traveling over to the area in May. Can someone help with which State Resort is better to lodge at? Ky Dam Village, Lake Barkley, or Kenlake? Plan to explore around the area, Patti's, maybe Fort Donelson, etc. Would consider other spots as well? Thoughts?
