Any single finger pickers out there?

I'm an amateur player in a few bands and am lucky enough to get to play a good bit. I had an injury a few years ago that kinda forced me into using a pick full time. I was recently in a recording session and the producer REALLY wanted me to finger pick on a certain track that wasn't too technical, but did have repeating 8th notes at a decent clip. I knew that I wouldn't be able to pull it off using alternating fingers and keep the rhythm steady, so I did it all with my index finger. I was able to get a reasonable amount of speed, and didn't feel like I was aggravating my injury. I've experimentally kept with it, and it's going well. Attempts to slowly integrate the alternating method have introduced some pain, so I'm staying away from that. I'm a firm believer of "if it works, it works", so I'm gonna keep going with it. Anyone else out there use only the index finger?
