FUKU UPDATE MARCH 13
Hey yall it’s another Fuku update! We are located in Pensacola, FL. I’m going to give you a rundown of the past 24 hours. Last night around 8-9 pm CST, Fuku had his first seizure. I am in a FIP support groupchat through HelpforFIP.com which has been amazing to get me meds in a very speedy time. They told me to rush him to the ER. The FIP support group told me NOT to euthanize him. Fast forward to the ER the doc is recommending euthanization so they handed me my unconscious baby to hold for 10 mins. The FIP support group chat was telling me STOP. GET HIM TREATMENT ASAP (mind you, these people have been doing this for years so they know FIP like the back of their hand. My trust is in THEM and not the ER at this point) the ERs current google review rating is 3.7….. NOT GOOD and I will explain why I understand that rating here shortly. I was putting my faith and trust in God and my FIP support group and not the ER they said get him on IV, keep him warm and feed him and steroids ASAP. So I explained to the doc who doesn’t want to hear about my “facebook group” suggestions because her ego could fill the room and “she’s a doctor she knows best” and I’m fighting for my cat i literally said “I am the parent. I will make the decisions”. So she’s already starting to piss me off they showed me 2 treatment plans. One for 24H one for 12H and i chose 12H with food. Screw it let’s get him TIME and the SUPPORT he needs so the GS meds can kick in. He had his first dose earlier that day via injection. Fast forward to 5 am, i get a good news call saying fuku is doing alright and OK, not good not bad. So great now I am going to take him to the vet. I do that and give him his 2nd dose around 10am today, March 13th. Fast forward to this afternoon I’m going to take him back to the ER because thats what he needs. He needs LIFE SUPPORT, HE NEEDS FLUID. HE NEEDS HEAT. HES 1.5 years old. I am going to leave it to the professionals. I do not want him dying on my watch that young. I was coordinating a turnover between the ER and the vet so they knew where to pick up where the vet left off this afternoon (they closed). I get a call from the ER. With another big ego doc saying “ trust me I’m a doctor. I know best blah blah blah”. At this point in time I’m getting pretty pissed off at her and am ready to take him to a different ER for a clean slate. She was recommending a “neurological physician” in Louisiana which is like 4 hours west and I don’t think Fuku would survive that car ride. She was essentially only saying that we have to euthanize him, And I AM NOT letting that happen this early in the fight. I just dropped him off at what was like God’s gift to ER vet clinics in Gulf Breeze 45 mins away and long story short these guys are AMAZING and willing to work with me and allow me to go in and give him his injections. So now I am just praying and trusting God, the docs and the GS treatment to get him through the weekend. Thank you guys for your support and reading this far.
