Brought yesterday, today the check engine light is on.
I brought a 2015 2.2 sd4 land rover yesterday, or rather the day before as I write this. Im in the UK, I brought the car as is, and did a quick test drive (garage was on a main road, so are quick 5 minute trip to avoid motorway)
I get home from work, the check engine light is on. There's a quiet squeal coming from the engine, only when moving. I wasnt expecting a brand new car, but less than 48 hours is ridiculous. It came with lifetime warranty for up to £1000 but im thinking more along the lines of shouldn't they fix it?? I love the car, I dont want to part with it if I can avoid that. I also am due to start a job where driving will be required 5-6times a day, on monday. I plan on plugging the obd port in but not clearing the issue, and then ringing the garage to find out their plans. I also emailed them with datestamps to leave a proper paper trail in case they evade the repair/refund. By law I am entitled to bring the car back within 30 days if it is considered unfit or not as sold. I screenshot the advertisement for the car, no check engine light. It also got out through its MOT (assuming by the same people that sold it to me) 3 days prior to sale.
