Easy to follow story rpg

As the title says im looking for easier to follow stories. I like Turn base / tactics rpgs. But I find so many of them just have way to complicated / deep or hard to follow stories. What are some easy to follow or less over the top fantasy games. Currently playing visions of mana and while I like it. I just find it to hard to follow. I would like to be at that point someday though. I play on pc only. Games I have enjoyed

Im sure theres more. But what comes to mind for more beginners easier to understand story games. Thx
