Do passengers need to show the original credit card used to book a flight? (Expedia / Philippine Airlines / Alaska Airlines)
Hi everyone,
I booked a flight for my brother through Expedia using my credit card (under my name). His itinerary is with Philippine Airlines going to Seattle and then a connecting flight with Alaska Airlines to Wyoming.
Since I paid for the ticket and my brother will be traveling alone, I’m wondering if airlines typically require the passenger to present the original credit card used for the booking at check-in.
The reason I’m asking is because a friend of his had almost the exact same itinerary—see the attached photo, but he booked directly through Alaska Airlines using someone else’s credit card. He was asked through email to show the original payment card through check in.
Has anyone experienced this when booking through Expedia or when flying Philippine Airlines with a connecting Alaska Airlines flight? Is it likely that my brother will be asked to present my credit card at the airport, or is that usually only required in certain cases?
Just trying to avoid any problems at check-in. Thanks! ✈️
