Please vote in Cambridge PB, and do NOT vote for "Planters for sidewalk trees", it kills the trees.

Source: https://ask.extension.org/kb/faq.php?id=812994 and r/arborists would agree.

Im talking about Cambridgw Participatory budgeting, which is here: https://www.cambridgema.gov/

Please vote, and vote for anything but "Planters for Sidewalk Trees"

An AI search also said that it can kill the tree. Ive seen a bunch of trees around the city, that had their trunks buried by extra soil, and now they look sickly. The city should remove this option or stop it happening if people unwittingly vote for it, so bonus points if you email citycouncil@cambridgema.gov about this.

Some ideas for good projects to vote for:

All the projects under "Transportation, Streets, and Sidewalks" look good.

Especially "more complete streets" which would improve crosswalks and add raised crossings in some places.

And "Fixing Sidewalks, Saving Trees" the shade really helps a ton in the summer. And alot of the sidewalks are in a dire state.
