Keeping safe while disbursing funds?

WA, I am the only trustee of my husband’s estate. There is no guidance from him in the trust or other documents for how to disburse the assets.

My step child has a history of threats, addiction & psychiatric problems. I don’t feel safe in their presence.

My husband would not have wanted the kids to be destitute. I am ok to provide them some of the estate but keep enough for me to live on, they can have the rest after I’m gone.

I don’t have legal grounds for a restraining order, the threats have never been witnessed outside the family.

Here’s what I’m thinking: I’ll give them the money I calculate in one lump sum. I want no contact. I won’t give them more while I’m alive.
