Medical Questions

I'm a cat grandma. And one of my grand kittens has a low WBC. All the regular stuff has been ruled out, and the vet is suggesting checking his bone marrow. They are reluctant to neuter him until his WBC is higher.

I've posted about this boy before. He has been peeing outside the box. Could be related but also could be because he's still got his balls. He will go after his brother/littermates in a sexual manner every now and then. But the vet is suggesting we don't neuter him until they understand what is going on with his WBC.

Any ideas what might be going on with him? I'm worried he's got something terminal. And I want to prepare myself and my son for whatever comes next.

The cat is acting fine. He's eating, drinking and pooping and his personality hasnt changed. This isn't an emergency. His littermate also had a low WBC, but his got high enough to be neutered. They were rescued from outside when they were little after their mom was killed.
