How I think Makoto would be designed on a gameplay level if she makes it in.

Discussion

Disclaimer: I'm not that good at the game, I'm just passionate about game design and enjoy thinking about this sort of thing.

I think Makoto would obviously retain her identity of the combo grappler stuff, but she used to be built around a high amount of stun. And that type of stun doesn't exist in SF6. So, I think she'd work best as someone that can take your Drive gauge out pretty well, maybe Karakusa can take off a pretty big chunk of it.

For her speed, I think her walk speed will remain awful as usual with step dashes making up for it, but I don't know what her Drive Rush would be like. I'm predicting it to either be really slow or really fast, I don't think it's gonna be inbetween.

As far as moves go, I can't think of any new moves to add to her kit, but I think her moves will serve similar purposes to what they did in earlier games. I think a fully charged Hataye should be plus and break armor but that might be my bias speaking, and I think OD Hayate would be a safe poke and maybe an anti fireball tool? It definitely shouldn't be plus with how much distance it covers, but I think it makes sense for it to be the jumpscare move for anyone that throws a fireball. Then of course, Karakusa would lead to big combos(Even bigger now with Drive cancels), Fukiage will not exist unless it's for combos, and I hope the axe kick leads to more fun air movement mixups. Also, OD Oroshi should groundbounce, they've done a lot of groundbouncing ODs and this feels DESIGNED for that.

For her supers, I'm in a bit of a bind. Tanden Renki seems like an obvious choice for a level 2, with it being an install and all, but honestly? With how little the changes are from the install, I'd rather it be a level 1, or just have an original super. It's a damage buff and not much more, so unless they omega overhaul it, I think it should be either a level 1 or replaced. For level 2, Abare Tosanami is an easy pick. It's her most iconic super, it's flashy, it's cool, and like many other level 2s in the game, you can combo into it and out of it. I think it fits perfectly as a level 2. As for her level 3, I think it's probably gonna be an original Super, but it might take heavy inspiration from Sechuusen Godanzuki.

Anyways, these are my opinions on how she'd be designed, what do you guys think?
