Knee Pain!
F(31), 256lbs, 5’0, no medications.
I have Turner’s Syndrome & deal with ARFID. Don’t exercise normally; life does keep me moving though.
I’m a theme park worker, on my feet 8+ hours a day in the hot sun. I came from teaching (a lot of sitting) last May and I’ve actually managed to lose weight with the career switch. However, one weekend in January my knee began hurting. It was only for a day or two. It went away, came back within two weeks. Went away for a bit, returned, repeat. Three weeks ago, it was consistent pain. Everyday after I got off of work. I’d do my job with no pain and normally, drive my 40 minute commute home, and be limping to get in the house. Sleep it off, repeat.
I took a full week off to keep off it, let it rest and reset. I went to the doctor during this time and as I’d seen improvement in the RICE method, she told me to continue and return within two weeks for an x-ray if pain was continuing. I’m on day 3 of my return to work and it’s worse than before. I’m feeling pain on the job now. When I elevate it after work, I get these weird spasms? Contortions? Cramps? That feel like charlie horses and like they’ll never end.
It’s just my left knee. Right knee is absolutely fine and normal.
At its worse, pain level has been an 8. But it’s consistently a 6 at night. Currently a 7.
I’ve been managing with RICE & ibuprofen but I’m tired of putting life to the side due to pain.
