Are we weightless in space because we're orbiting or because no gravity is acting on us.
I know when you're in orbit you're weightless because you're constantly falling.
I got to thinking everything is orbiting, our star around the center of the galaxy, and our galaxy around other galaxies. So is the weightlessness in deep space caused by a lack of gravitational forces acting on you? Or are we weightless because we're orbiting something so far away that our frame of reference doesn't make it intuitive.
