How can people usually tell on a date that someone wants to hookup/get intimate or how do they start it ?

I’m (M21) just wondering cause ive never gotten to the hookup but I am trying to figure out cause I wanna go out with a friends mom or mutual friend that I have s connection with and im my friends have only met from hobbies/friends or friends of friends

Like if you go on a date with someone you know like that or have a connection to then what signs may show that they wanna hookup? (I know they could be different but in general)

If you read the signs right how does a hookup happen on a date if you’re not literally asking “wanna hookup” do you say like “wanna go to hotel” or something?
