[Discussion] I can finally get a long-time "grail," but all I want are affordable microbrand watches

Discussion

For context, I'm 19 and got into watches in December. They started as a distraction to keep me sober (went to rehab in the fall), and have turned into a full-blown obsession. I got a job in December as well, and told myself I would never spend more than $1,000 on a watch. When I discovered Longines' Conquest, Master, and Spirit lines, I knew they were probably my first "grails," because I loved the watches but could never imagine buying them. Fast forward to now, I've saved up quite a bit of money and I finally feel comfortable shelling out for a Longines. The only problem? I don't want to anymore. I'd rather spend $600 on a Cincinnati Field watch, a Baltic Aquascaphe Classic, a second Kuoe, etc etc. and keep saving, partially for more "cheap" watches. Is this weird? Have my tastes devolved?
