(I know hindsight is 20/20.) I’ve been wondering, does God really do things as matter of fact-ly and literally as we picture them?
There’s LOTS of examples but let me give you just one. About 6 months before I met my wife in the year 2018, I met this other girl. We met in junior year college classes And I was swooning over her in every way. Everything was going perfectly with her and we hung out together at Sonic several times and had long talks. We had a lot in common too. After about 4 or 5 of these hangouts, I was totally falling in love with her. And I thought I was rounding the metaphorical homestretch to being official. So on my birthday I asked her to be my girlfriend. And she said that she wasn’t looking for a boyfriend, none of those hangouts were dates, and she didn’t intend on me catching feelings. It knocked the wind out of me and crushed me in every way. I was sad for weeks.
I eventually met my future wife later in the year, and I’m just wondering if God takes things the same way we do.
**Did God look at me at the start of 2018 and say “You know what? I think you need one more big heartbreak before you’re ready for your wife?”**
