Hi everyone,

I work in an outdoor store, and this is how we received a stock of caps from Patagonia. We had around 50-60 hats, each individually wrapped in a non-reusable, non-recyclable plastic bag. I am honestly very disappointed by the amount of waste Patagonia thinks is acceptable to generate for the shipping of their products especially considering the values the company promotes. It all seems excessive too. From my experience, some other companies on the market (who are not even particularly known for their nature-friendly endeavors) actually manage to ship their products with less plastic waste. If there is one company who I would've expected to use as little plastic wrapping as possible, it would've been Patagonia. I can only imagine the total amount of waste generated if you add up every store that receives such shipments.

I know this post could be a little risky (thats why I'm being purposely vague about some info), or it might be taken down, but I figured it contains information that every Patagonia consumer should be aware of.

I also want to get everyones opinion on this matter. Maybe there is a good reason for this, that could even align with ecological issues. Lastly, I am myself a big fan of Patagonia products, so I only come with the idea of finding solutions, no particular hate to the company!

This is how Patagonia shipped us a stock of caps. Is this acceptable?
