Motherboard posting CPU temps but i cant find problems
I just built a pc for the first time yesterday and it wasn't cheap so im a little anxious. My motherboard is displaying the CPU temp which i looked up and thats apparently supposed to indicate either overheating or a sensor issue. I don't think its a sensor cuz hwinfo, my AIO lcd screen and the motherboard are all posting the same temps (sometimes with a slight delay cuz of the AIO). As for the temps, I haven't owned a pc myself before so im not super familiar with what temps are "normal" or "safe" and whenever i try to research it i get very very mixed results.
data I have so far: the pc rests at about 45c which I am aware is above or on the high end for what most people say is a "good" range to be in. It is a 9950x3d which I've heard tends to run hotter. it goes between like 45 and 50 when just doing general stuff; web browsing, using discord, downloading stuff. which some things ive read say thats a little hot and some say its perfectly normal. what does confuse me is that every game I've played on max settings to try to test it a bit (Arc raiders, Cyberpunk. 1348 ex Voto just cuz it came out lol, Soulframe im not as surprised since that game is really well optimized) the cpu temps have never gone above 70c which im pretty consistently told is a good temperature.
so am I worrying over nothing? it doesn't seem to be dangerous but I'd rather ask and be called a worrywart than not ask and melt my cpu lmao
