Fridays are my weigh in days (to allow myself to have cheats on the weekends). Today I got excited over what I saw on the scale because Im back to 217 which I last weighed in Sept. of 2024. It doesnt seem like much and its not sexy by any means. For context I started wegovy in January of 24 at 256 (F, 5’5) and steadily lost 1-2lbs per week w/o tracking and exercising sporadically. The plateau commenced after a spontaneous trip to a NY that Sept.(gained 5lbs) then later in that month my grandpa’s health declined and I stepped in as one of his caregivers. For anyone that has experience caring for an end stage dementia patient at home its stressful to say the least. For the last year and a half that was my life, not focusing on eating or exercising just doing what I could to get through the day injecting weekly still to curb the food noise.

He passed in August of 25 and I knew the best thing I could do is give myself a reset and focus on my own health. I tried giving wegovy the old college try again, I was up to 226lbs and worked with a dietician weekly for the first time ever. She was very patient with me, taking it slow, focusing on only non scale wins at first like drinking water and meal prepping one meal per week. I built up the motivation to start stregnth training. After 3 months of that the scale still wasnt moving for me but I stayed consistent.

Finally made the switch to zepbound and incorporated daily 3 mile walks with my training along with tracking calories/protein. After my second month the scale is back to trending downward! Ive lost 10lbs! Im finally back at 217 breaking the year plus plateau!

Sorry for the rant I just wanted to share some hope for my fellow plateau-ers. We have to celebrate the small wins to keep us going! I know I have a long way to go but my next goal is to get under 200lbs which I havent been at that weight since the pandemic. It makes me feel like Im turning the clock back. Stay motivated my friends! I don’t post often but I check this thread often and you all make me feel like I can do it. ❤️
