32 Looking for a Discord regular to chat with/play games

Happy Friday everyone!

Well, I am just putting myself out there in the hopes that there might be one or two out there who are likeminded and are also a bit bored. My reason for posting is rather simple: I'd just like to meet one or a few people with whom I can chat about the things going on in daily life with, laugh at the absurdities of work happenings and memes, maybe in the evenings play a few games or stream some stuff, that's it.

I think that friendships are not formed in one day, and it's usually pretty easy to tell if there's interest or a sparkle. General interview style questions into "oh cool" and then shifting into a "how are you" every so often, we've all been there and that's really not what I'm looking for. I understand that it is rather rare to run into someone these days at age 30+, when all your friends are either having kids or simply having other things going on in their lives and it becomes more and more difficult to keep in the circle. Nonetheless, I also believe in the simple idea that if you don't try, well, then you certainly will never have any results. The best we can do, is just give it a try.

Having said all that, and I apologize for being longwinded, I guess a little bit about myself is next. I'm 32 years old living in NA, and most my days are quite routine and mundane. Wake up, work, relax a bit, make some food, run chores and errands, and then with the small amount of free time tend to some hobbies or play some games. Rinse and repeat on most days, but I do like to get out as well and although I am certainly introverted with a fairly small social battery, I am not anti-social by any standard.

I grew up on some very good classics such as Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles, Pokemon, Doom, Counter Strike, Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo and the such. I still play some games on the PC and Switch these days, but nowhere near to how much I used to play with the typical demands of life and just not having the same level of energy as I once had in my younger days. Nonetheless, if we do mesh well and there are common games we are interested in, I would welcome some gaming for sure.

Aside from that, my main hobby is the piano, a few others include the game of Chess, learning about space and history, reading (mostly non-fic), cooking and making tea & coffee. Yes, most of the time I'm just taking it one day at a time and there isn't a whole lot of excitement in my life, but I kind of like the peace and steady pacing as well and generally feel pretty happy to be where I am.

I'm pretty open to chatting about really anything, maybe not politics but most things are fair game I think. Bonus points if you are also a horror fan like me and indulge yourself in things like urban exploration, haunted places, horror games and so on. I think I've rambled on long enough, if you've read all this I am genuinely impressed and would like to thank you for your time.
