Went to my 6 week post op appointment yesterday for my lower back and the nurse was picking at my back and said there was oozing so she decided she was going to remove the scab which caused this gaping hole in my incision site so she brought in my surgeon and he saw the hole and was concerned so now I’m back on antibiotics for the third time since surgery and I have to shower twice a day and rebandage the area twice all because the nurse took out the scab so I have a hole in my incision site that can lead to staph infection and I think it’s starting to spread so I’m pretty sure I have a staph infection already but not sure. Today I noticed after showering I have another small hole above the big hole. I don’t feel sick and I have no fever or chills, however sometimes I feel and get really hot especially when I wake up or sleeping at night I feel hot. Other than that I feel slightly fatigued but it could be all the pain medicine that I’ve been taking for my recovery. 

Now I have to go to a wound clinic Monday morning to see if they can do anything for it. Right now I’m scared and worried. Im hoping someone has some insight into how to deal with this other than cleaning and taking antibiotics? I showed my mom and she thinks I should go to the ER for a second opinion but honestly what can they do if I’m already on antibiotics and I see a wound specialist Monday.
