Vintage Story shutting down computer
Hey guys, pretty much what the title says.
I play with my cousin on multiplayer (just us two) and for some reason, the last several times this has resulting in my computer briefly shutting down after just a few minutes of playtime. Today I couldn't even get my computer back on for long enough to kill Vintage Story before it shut down again.
I have not had this issue with any other game, nor have i ever encountered this issue with literally anything on this computer before. I ran a malware scan, and nothing was detected.
I thought maybe it's cuz I was running discord, spotify, and vintage story, and also maybe the graphics? So I shut down spotify and reduced the graphics heavily (I have the ram set to "aggressively optimize"), but the same thing happened again.
I have 16 gb of ram, and I checked right after my computer shut down, and my memory was at over 13 gb usage. So I am pretty sure it's a ram issue, but i've never had this problem before. We used to be able to play for well over five hours with no issues at all (while running spotify). This is only after my cousin and i downloaded the new update that is still in testing, but I could've sworn I deleted that and reverted to 1.21.6. Even so, I think that may be the problem. I tried deleting and reinstalling VS, but when I went to install, it said I already had it (i told it to uninstall the old version, but I still am having that problem).
If someone can help me figure out how to fully uninstall VS everywhere and try again, or suggest a different solution, that would be greatly appreciated.
