Is anyone else disappointed with the Barber rescan?

Discussion

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that iRacing continues to go back and improve on old scans, but with the new Barber rescan being available, I can't help but feel disappointed. Maybe I just hadn't driven the old track enough in the past, but the new scan really seems like it could have been an art refresh. The kerbs are slightly different and that's it, it doesn't drive better at all to me.

With so many amazing tracks not in the sim yet, it feels like going back and doing Barber again from the ground up is kind of a waste. It's not even like the old scan was really bad, it held up totally fine, at least in my opinion.

Not to mention the fact that they didn't bother to do the short configurations. I understand why they made that decision, and it's fine in isolation, but it definitely feels like a step in the wrong direction. One of the many reasons why I love iRacing is because of how committed they are to comprehensively reconstructing and preserving tracks, but it would be really disheartening if omitting certain elements (especially those that had been previously done) due to a lack of use becomes a trend.

The only reason that I can think of as to why they even bothered is due to the new IndyCar game coming out. Maybe a rescan was required for that, and iRacing gets the new scan as a byproduct, but I'm only guessing.

I don't intend to stir any negativity at all, but I haven't seen anyone else talk about this so I'm not sure if I'm alone in thinking this.
