Pain Doctor Changing Medication after 10 years.
I've been on two very strong pain medications for over a decade. During my last visit, my doctor announced that she would be taking me off of my muscle relaxer immediately, reducing my pain patch and breakthrough medication to zero over two months. As a replacement starting next month, she will be prescribing a small dose Belbuca buccal patch. I'm a little bit angry as I'm having no side effects, never asked for increases or run out. The only issue I've had is skin rash from the patches. When she told me what she was going to do, she said she was concerned about breathing issues. I go there for inpatient Ketamine infusions as well and never had reports of breathing problems. They would know with the amount of monitoring equipment used. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm a little embarrassed to face the pharmacy staff. Has anyone else had this happen so abruptly.
