Oversupply/Clogged Ducts Help NEEDED
Oversupply/Clogged Duct Advice NEEDED I have what feels like a really desperate problem with my milk so far. My second baby was born Monday morning and about 30 hours later Tuesday night, my milk came in with a vengeance. Since then I have constant lumps in my breast tissue. When baby fed, I felt just as full and lumpy as when we started. Last night he was really gassy and I was huge and he refused to take the breast all night. This morning I got a pump and bottles and thankfully he's happy to be an exclusively pumping baby. I have been using the Bite model of 800mg ibuprofen and 1,000 of Tylenol every eight hours and icing a lot. Baby was even willing to do a few minutes on the breast late afternoon and they finally had some softness at the front but still lumpy at the back. But just now they felt worse again. There is still some softness at the front, but the back lumps are worse. Maybe it's because I am on hour seven of the meds? Do I just have to keep going with the icing and meds and hope they work in another day or two? What do I do about the oversupply. When I pump I don't pump to empty, only for 5-10 minutes and I usually get 2oz from each side. This last pump I got less than 1oz from both sides combined. I'm so lost with how to fix this. I never dealt with oversupply with my first unless you count leaking on the side not being fed on. I really don't want to get mastitis or have to pump all night rather than feed from the tap. Sorry for how long and rambling this is. Help!
P.s. my husband is on the way to the grocery store to get me sunflower lecithin based on the recommendation of another support group.
