[TEXAS] unemployment claim question
So I’m one of two vault tellers at a credit union I work at. I had been with the company going on 5 years. To try to explain on Friday our entire teller line was full so I took the area where we don’t have a cash recycler but I’m still able to transact. One of the tcrs ( cash recycler) was off by $100 (I do not use this tcr for my transactions at all) I asked the rest of the team if they used it for that amount and they all said no. So I refreshed the log because my thought process was maybe it didn’t update so I printed the inventory log again and the totals were even more off. Printed the log a third time and I balanced (so I thought). So I thought. So my co vault was closing the machines today and she told me that same machine was off the same amount I was off originally. So essentially I forced balanced . We went through the work and the inventory log was not the same for what I entered. The ones in the tcr was logged in for 982 when the inventory log reported 882. So I basically didn’t read the inventory log correctly and inputted the 982 instead of 882 had I done so I would’ve noticed it was still not balanced. I have balanced them so many times with no issue and never have done this before nor would I purposely do it. All the tellers balanced that day and the tickets matched and we called our manager and she said to run it as is and that it was a force balance. fast forward a few days my manager did an audit and found the 100s to be out of balance. So the money was there but the machine wasn’t picking it up. But because I still forced balanced on paper I got fired. My manager tried to have me sign a separation of unemployment paper stating I intentionally did it but I refused. Will this affect my chances of getting unemployment?
