Nikon D3200 vs Canon PowerShot G7x mk II for beginner?
I'll start by saying I have no photography experience beyond using a smartphone. I have a big trip planned for next year and am considering getting a nice used camera for cheap and learning how to use it between now and the trip. If I decide putting thought and effort into taking pictures isn't for me, then I'll just resell the camera and get most of my money back.
Both of the above cameras are for sale in my area for $250. Both seem to be in good condition and very lightly used. The nikon comes with a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens, sd card, battery, charger, neck strap, and carrying case. It has a shutter count of ~1500. This seems to be a fair price but I still might try to get it down to $200 if I decide to pull the trigger.
The canon comes with a battery, charger, wrist strap, and original packaging. This camera seems to typically cost much more, but apparently it was also very trendy among bloggers so the price was inflated? Idk, but the specs do make it seem better than the nikon on paper (lol numbers are bigger.) Is it actually better or all hype?
I'll be taking pictures of scenery, people, and wildlife at zoos. I also don't really care about video compared to still images. Thank you
