AITAH for tipping the snow blower guy only $5 while walking by?

Admittedly, I came back from Panama where $5 was a good tip. I walked back to my condo for which the snow blowing is included. This is Toronto, so snow has been falling down hard today.

I saw him working hard, trying to light his cigarette. I have him my lighter and we joked around a bit. I said hey thanks, here is $5.

He said I can't accept that and I pushed it into his hand and just said thanks man. He sarcastically joked 'hey ill buy myself a coffee'.

I should have never done it. I know it's not enough, but I felt real bad about it hours later.
Am I the asshole?
