[Desktop App] Lyric Overlay — live-synced lyrics overlay for gaming, coding, and multitasking (Windows/macOS)
Hey! I built a desktop app that shows real-time synced lyrics as a floating always-on-top window while you game, code, or work.
The problem: Spotify, Apple Music, etc. have lyrics but they only show inside their own app. If you're fullscreen gaming or deep in your IDE, you have to alt-tab just to see what's playing.
Lyric Overlay sits on top of everything fullscreen games, browsers, code editors — and shows lyrics scrolling in sync with your music.
What it does:
-
Live-synced lyrics from any music player (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, VLC, etc.)
-
Always-on-top floating window
-
Customizable font, size, opacity, and position
-
Import your own .lrc files for unsupported songs
-
Lightweight — no FPS impact while gaming
-
Windows 10/11 + macOS 11+
Looking for feedback on:
- Overall UX and first impressions
- Song detection accuracy across different music apps
- Any bugs or weird behavior on your setup
- Feature requests what would make this a must-have for you?
