Hi all!
Im new to this sub and have been following posts for a while and learned so much already. Ive realized how harsh ive been on my skin my whole life.. which I suspect is why its always red and irritated (especially around my nose and nasolabial area), oily yet also gets very dry and flaky throughout the day, and bumpy on my cheeks/forehead. I'm not 100% sure but looks like closed comedomes maybe?

I never really had a skincare routine, so this is the best summary of what I was doing my whole life up until a few days ago:
- I wear makeup daily and I usually would fall asleep with it on. In the morning I would wash my face to cleanse and remove yesterdays makeup with Neutrogena salicylic acid face wash, or store brand equivalent. After I washed, I'd rub my face with a towel to not only dry it but to also exfoliate it, because there was always so much flaking. Then I'd moisturize with a face lotion. I have a few that I randomly cycle between throughout the week- Aveeno Calm & Restore Redness Relief Cream, Simple Skincare Replenishing Rich Moisturizer, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. After that, I re-apply makeup and go about my day.

After reviewing posts here I realize Ive been too harsh on my skin for yeeeears, and recently changed my routine to this:
Both AM & PM:
-Changed face wash to a gentle cleanser (Simple Brand Refreshing Face Wash), wash both evening and morning.
-Pat my face dry with a towel instead of rub
-Moisturize, still with any random face lotion, but also added La-Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 spray.

The photos are of my face a few days into the new skincare regimen. Not seeing much of a difference yet, but i know its early. Looking for any advice on how to improve or if theres anything I should do differently to help repair my skin barrier

Help!
