Is my boyfriend (25M) looking down on me (25F)?

I recently quit my job in consulting due to it really jeopardizing my mental health, and have been looking for new positions and landed numerous interviews in a certain field. I was excited about the number of callbacks for roles of a certain field coming in as I saw it as a recognition of my experience and skills, but my boyfriend said "that field is always desperate for people". Another time, I was telling my boyfriend about a final round I had for a role of this particular field at a F500 company, and he told me "is the job market that bad that they're hiring people in this field"? (Not really sure what that meant.)

He has generally been encouraging during my recruiting process, but with these two remarks I can't shake off the feeling that he thinks I'm landing these interviews, especially the one at the F500 company, just because they're desparate for more headcount.

Am I overthinking this, and/or taking it personally when I shouldn't?
