I just bought madden 26 on steam and it is so choppy and slow

I downloaded the game yesterday and my gaming laptop was running it smoothly and perfectly. I played a couple games and they were perfectly fine. Today I tried to play again but everytime the game starts on the field everything becomes super slowed down. Why is there this random change when yesterday it was perfectly fine.
