Met a firefighter at my gym a month ago, would it be weird to try to reach out?
About a month ago (on Valentine’s Day actually) I met a firefighter at my gym and we ended up having a really good conversation. It was surprisingly deep for a random gym interaction — we even briefly talked about things like marriage and life goals. During the conversation he asked for my name twice, which made it seem like he was trying to remember it.
I initiated the conversation, but at the end I went to talk to my gym friend and he seemed kind of sad/quiet after that.
I haven’t seen him since. I go to the gym every day but he hasn’t been around.
Also, the MCAT basically takes up all my time right now — my only real breaks are frisbee golf with my buddies and Sundays with my dad.
Now it’s been about a month and I keep wondering if I should try contacting the fire department to see if I could get in touch with him. The thing is, I only know his first name and that he works at that station.
Would that be weird or crossing a line, or is it the kind of thing where life is short and it might be worth trying?
