Am I lucid or am I dreaming about being lucid?

Meta

This question goes to everyone who's have had lucid dreams on a plenty. Round about once a week I'm lucid dreaming for years - or so I think.

I've been dreaming lucidly here and there over the span of many years, to the point of me getting almost bored by it. For the sake of this topic I will say one thing: by lucid dreaming I mean a clear dream, almost as awake state, with full control.

Because of the quantity of lucidity I eventually started to get bored by it, or rather be very uninspired by my ideas on what to do. The last few years, every time I spot myself dreaming (using DILD), I just started flying around, imagining landscapes I'd like to see and fly through them. Lately I've had dreams that make me question my lucidity: I become lucid, do a reality check and the moment it works I jump out of any window that's in my dream setting and start flying. It's almost a given by now, flying when lucid. Which brings me to my question: Is there a possibility I am just dreaming about the whole shabam? Dreaming about a successful reality check and dreaming about flying around just because my subconscious expects to do exactly that when I'm actually lucid?

Reason for this question is the the monotonous nature of my lucidity; in the end I guess it doesn't really matter to the cause, but I still wonder if all of those dreams are actually lucid or if my brain just could portray them at such, knowing I will do a reality check and fly.. Anyone else ever encountered this dilemma? Thank you for your input.
