About to give up on getting ZHA to detect my Sonoff Zigbee dongle, any last suggestions?

Support

I picked up a Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus (ZBDongle-E) last year and struggled to get it going, so I set it aside as I was planing to upgrade my home assistant system later on. Now I'm trying one last time having trouble still.

I have HomeAssistant OS running in a VM on Proxmox. HAOS is fully up to date and just recently installed. My Zigbee dongle is running the latest (8.0.2) firmware, but I also tried the older 7.4.3 firmware first, with the same results.

Proxmox correctly identifies the Zigbee USB device, and I have enabled passthrough to my HAOS VM.

The device simply will not be detected when trying to add the ZHA integration, using the EZSP adapter type. I do not see any notification in Home Assistant as I expect there to be.

I've tried various USB ports and reenabled USB pasthru, rebooted both the Proxmox system and the HAOS VM each time.. No luck. I even tried

A lot of the stuff I've searched online is either way out of date, or sends me down rabbit holes.

I'd be happy for any suggestions anyone can offer here. Thanks!
