I have a weird thing to admit
I have zero idea what my baby’s hunger cues are at 6 months old because, other than overnight, I never let him go more than 3 hours without eating and sometimes less than that. For context, he was born 2.5 weeks early and was very small. He was in the 1-2 percentile for a long time and it took time for him to get back to birth weight. Up until our 3 month appointment I was to feed him every 2-3 hours during the day and every 4 hours overnight, per the pediatrician. At 3 months he had a tongue tie release and went from the 2 percentile to the 19th percentile in a month. He’s 6 months old now and in the 33rd percentile. All that to say, I’m slightly scarred from the weight loss and struggle to gain it back and I can’t wrap my head around just letting him tell me when he’s hungry. Am I overreacting?
How often do your 6 month olds eat and if bottle fed, how many oz? I nurse 90% of the time and he gets a bottle every once in awhile to make sure he will still take one. When he gets a bottle he gets 4oz.
