Is it strange that all I want is to genuinely be a wife and take care of my kids?
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about purpose and what kind of life actually feels meaningful to me.
I’ve realized that the things that make me feel most fulfilled are very simple. Cooking. Cleaning. Serving food. Creating a comfortable home. Supporting my kids and partner with their goals. Finding resources or programs that help them grow. Being someone people can come to when they need help.
The environment I naturally create is usually comfortable, loving, and supportive. People tend to come to me with all kinds of issues, and I genuinely enjoy helping where I can.
When I picture the kind of life that feels right to me, it’s very home-centered. A day where I’m cooking meals, keeping the home peaceful and organized, helping my kids learn and grow, supporting my partner’s goals, and sharing quality time that’s beneficial for everyone involved. Simple, wholesome pleasures.
At the same time, I sometimes struggle with the feeling that I was born to be a mother and a wife, and without those roles fully present in my life I feel incomplete or unsure of my purpose.
I’m curious if anyone else feels this way. Have you ever felt like your natural purpose is building and supporting a family life? And if so, how do you navigate those feelings when life doesn’t perfectly match that vision yet?
