My friend told other friend about my past suicide attempt without asking for permission, how should I procede?

For a little bit of context, it was last year so still somewhat recent. I've been recovering quite slowly but getting better every day, and I decided to hang out with 2 friends. While walking to the dollar tree, one of them unprompted just said "Charlie (me) tried killing himself last year" and to this point I've never told him about this, because it didn't really seem to matter but I'm just suprised and confused why?
