considering walking away from all this

Self Post

anyone else getting close to just saying forget it

f1 stem opt with about 10 months remaining, been waiting almost 2 years for any kind of movement and still nothing, plus now im on that 75 country list which makes things even worse

im an engineer with solid work experiance and got my masters from a decent program, worked at 2 different companies here and did really well at both, way better than what they expected from me, but im starting to question if this whole thing is even worth it anymore, feels like im just putting myself through unnecessary stress and spending way too much money

i know a lot of us are in similar situations, when you come here you usually have so much motivation and employers can see that drive, but im getting to the point where i almost dont care anymore and im starting to accept that there are other places where i can work too, they wont find people with our motivation and qualifications that easily

immigrants built this country and their absence will hurt it too

edit for anyone who wants to argue: nobody here is trying to force acceptance, im just asking for a clear and honest process, if you dont understand how this works - you pay thousands of dollars, they tell you it takes about a year to complete, then 3 years pass and they ask for more money to speed things up, then you still wait several more years for visa bulletins, if they dont want more immigrants then just shut down the process and stop taking peoples money and time, its that simple
