Lease or buy

I have been thinking in getting a car soon, but I’m stuck on idk if I should lease or finance. Now if I buy although a brand new car sounds amazing I’m worry of monthly payments so I was thinking in getting a car from about 2023/2025 I preferably want a Toyota or Honda

Now my boyfriend just wants me to be happy and what ever I want but he is kinda telling me that if ima buy that I should get a new car it’s what I deserve but he’s also saying that financing is better and cheaper

But in the long run aren’t they the same thing ? I don’t know, any advice ? What’s better leasing or buying??
