clarification needed on the whole "save 15% for retirement" thing

Saving

so when financial advisors throw around that 15% retirement savings number, are they talking about just what comes out of my paycheck or does that include what my company kicks in too

my situation is my employer automatically puts 4% of my pay into my retirement account (not a match, just straight contribution) and i'm currently putting in 10% myself, so that gets me to 14% total. wondering if i need to bump up my personal contribution to hit 15% or if i'm already there

been struggling to comfortably reach that full 15% from my own pocket but if employer money counts then i can chill out a bit

also curious about what kind of retirement lifestyle that 15% is supposed to support - is it bare minimum survival money or should it actually let you maintain your current way of living once you stop working, because that makes a huge differance in how seriously i need to take this benchmark
